Messiah Lutheran Church Hub Meeting Minutes               February 3, 2011                         6:30 PM

IV.         Review of Calendar

• April All Committee Night to be April 14
• Third Thursday in April - Maundy Thursday - Seder Dinner here with Concord
• Midweek Lenten Services during the day
• February All Committee Night - February 17 (not vacation week)

V.          Annual Meeting

• Staff bonuses motion to be referred to Mutual Ministry for a recommendation to Hub

VI.         Mutual Ministry Team and Staff Evaluation Process

• All Hub members and Mutual Ministry Team to participate in evaluations
• Members of the congregation to participate as well

VII.       Call Every Member Project

• Needed - an ongoing process to update our records - has not been done in recent years
• Determine members of team to make phone calls
• Wayne to send starting list of this team to Hub members
• Tom to ask folks to serve

VIII.      Committee Night

• Good response to first meeting in January
• Time allotment for committee meetings not long enough for some
• Folks to make choice if they serve on more than one committee

IX.         Identifying, Greeting, and Follow up with Visitors

• Track member attendance as well
• Very important for congregation to sign attendance books - name & address
• Better follow up needed
• Awareness by all of members not here recently

X.          Property Updates - Sandy McLellan

• Projects discussed: snow plowing, floors in church - use of mats might help keep floors cleaner, contracts / expenses, back door by kitchen needing latch to open door from outside, shed
• Goal to form a Property Committee - job too extensive for one person
• Member of Messiah might be able to help with carpet cleaning as part of her pledge

XI.         Other Ministry Updates & Proposals

• Request that Messiah help organize May CROP Walk in Greece
• Hub approval that Messiah sponsor at least two of Maggie’s Kids for Winter Weekend in March - announce in church this weekend as deadline for registration is February 11

XII.       Communications

• Thank You note from Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago for sponsoring Bekki
• From Rochester Community Bikes - need bikes to repair and donate to community children
