IV.         Herald Clarifications - Mary Ann Fenz, new member / Herald editor

• Purpose of newsletter - communication, reaches more people, more details, education on liturgical year
• Duplication between that and bulletins, etc. is good - cannot over-communicate

V.          Review of Calendar for December & January - Written

• Pastor Aileen will contact Ed Orlando to make changes           

VI.         Report of the Pastor - Aileen Robbins - Written

VII.       Stewardship & Budget Update - Wayne Reabold

• Projected shortfall around $30,000
• Those with outstanding pledges will receive phone calls
• Major givers are older folks - how do we attract younger people?
• Messiah is limited in what ministries can and cannot be done
• No fundraisers for ourselves - may be held for causes outside ourselves

VIII.      Hub Nominations / Nominating Committee - Gary Makowiecki

• Meeting in the next week - information to follow to all Hub members

IX.         Annual Meeting & Annual Reports

• Reports due to Cathy Coe by December 15
• 2010 financial books close December 26
• Two openings on Endowment Board - Tom Plutchak (agreed to serve third and final term), Laurel Sanger (declined re-election - Mary Sonneville agreed to serve)
• Replacement needed for James Frederiksen, Financial Secretary

X.          Church Computers & Website Update - Tom Plutchak

• Meeting on December 11 with all parties involved in website
• May change maintenance of website and webmaster

XI.         Two Doors Update & Request - Pastor Aileen Robbins

• John Corman volunteers at Two Doors
• Pastor Aileen was asked to serve on Board as it explores needs of middle school
• Additional location is needed, preferably with computers - Messiah already has a computer room!
• Hub affirmed Two Door’s request to take next steps to use our building, under umbrella of Two Doors - twelve children here 3-6 PM, three days per week - would become Messiah’s ministry
• Children may need transportation to their homes, in Greece

XII.       Update on Replacing Pastor Kit - Tom Plutchak, Wayne Reabold

• Dean John Macholz has data - a meeting with him to be set when 2011 budget in place
• Additional staff to be determined based upon needs / available finances
• Pre-Call Committee needed to begin process - define church position
• Any staffing changes go through Synod

XIII.      Members Cleaning the Church Update - Tarri Mundt

• Nothing new to report
• Should Messiah seek new cleaning service? Bids? Evaluation?
• Building needs better care - cleaning, repairs, painting, replacement of old tables/chairs
• Many repairs are in process, including broken window and outdoor sign

XIV.      Other Ministry Updates & Proposals

• Parishioner has suggested advertising budget line item of $3,000 for the Greece Post for one year
• What is Messiah known for?  Our roof . . . .  Process to change image may begin with our association with Two Doors (working with children at risk)
• Church membership rolls to be revised through letters, phone calls, visits
• Power Surge workshops may begin in near future - Joanne Lightenberg offered to coordinate them
• Pastor Aileen will undergo surgery January 28, recovery period through Ash Wednesday, March 9.  Pastoral coverage during her absence will be by Pastor Mary Krahn Johnson
• Newsletter articles for Epiphany Season due December 10
