Adult fellowship
The JOY (Just Older Youth) folks of Messiah are made up of seniors who are 50 or older who enjoy being together. We meet at noon on the second Tuesday of each month from September through June. We enjoy eating, as many other seniors do and therefore we plan pot luck meeting quite often. We do have speakers of interest occasionally. There is a host for each month who has volunteered to make our meeting enjoyable. Sometimes that host will make arrangements for us to go to a local restaurant for lunch… or we might do something different like bringing in some of our hobbies, crafts and the like. And there are special lunches prepared by members right here at Messiah. At Christmas our host will plan a party with lunch. In June we traditionally have a picnic at Braddock’s Bay Park.
Once each year, in October, we plan a one-day bus tour. Usually we have a full bus and then we are picked up at Messiah. If you are interested in going on that trip, you do not have to be a member of Messiah to sign up for a good time. Or… at any of our meeting!
We do take a collection at meeting that is used for projects at Messiah and memorials.
