Messiah Pride

Messiah Pride is a new ministry for LGBTQIA2S+ disciples and their allies to come together for fellowship, spiritual growth, and to advocate for various issues that affect the LGBTQIA2S+ community. Currently we are meeting once a month after church, but have plans to alternate between Sunday after church and Friday evening events to promote more social interaction and fellowship. Since our inception this spring, we have attended the calling hours of Katelyn Benoit and attended the Vigil/Memorial for Sam Nordquist on April 26th.

Rochester Pride Weekend: A Rainbow Revolution

On Saturday, July 19, Messiah Pride joined over 200 other groups in the Rochester Pride Parade. Starting at the corner of Science Parkway and South Ave, 18 of us marched in the parade that ended at highland park! It is estimated that 20,000 people from around the Rochester Community gathered for the parade and festival.

Our float theme was Welcoming the lost sheep. We had give aways that consisted of index cards with our logo and QR codes to our website on it, stickers, and some sweet treats.

Continuing the weekend, we celebrated Pride Sunday at Worship on July 20. We had 20 people join us online, and 73 join us in person!  We would also like to highlight the lovely choir of 13 and Willie for their wonderful anthem!

Immediately following worship, we were joined 35 people for a pot luck and panel discussion regarding the book Non Binary for Beginners.

<We appreciate the support from the Endowment committee for their support as we continue to grow this important ministry>
